Privacy Policy
KR Auckland | Luxury Estate
Effective date: 1 January 2024
1. Introduction
KR Auckland Limited, trading as Luxury Estate ("KR Auckland", "we", "us"), respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the thirteen Information Privacy Principles (IPPs). This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have in relation to your information.
2. Who we are
KR Auckland is a licensed real estate agency operating under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008 (REAA 2008) and a member of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (MREINZ). Our registered office is 28 Ravenwood Drive, Forrest Hill, Auckland 0620, New Zealand. You can contact our privacy officer at info@luxury-property.co.nz.
3. Information we collect
- Information you provide directly — your name, email address, phone number, postal address, property preferences and any message content submitted through our enquiry forms, appraisal requests or subscription sign-ups.
- Information collected automatically — IP address, browser type and version, device identifiers, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page and approximate location, gathered through server logs and cookies. See our Cookie Policy for detail.
- Information from third parties — where you connect with us via social platforms, are referred by an agent, or where property records are provided by public registries such as Land Information New Zealand (LINZ).
4. How we use your information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, arrange property viewings, provide appraisals, deliver marketing materials you have opted into, comply with legal obligations (including anti-money-laundering verification under the AML/CFT Act 2009), improve our website and services, and protect against fraud or misuse. We will not use your information for a purpose other than the one for which it was collected unless you consent or an exception under the Privacy Act applies.
5. Disclosure to third parties
We may share your information with vendors or purchasers where you have consented as part of a transaction, with service providers who host our website, send our emails or provide analytics, with professional advisors (lawyers, accountants, auditors), and with government agencies where required by law. We do not sell personal information.
6. Cross-border transfer
Some of our service providers store data on servers located outside New Zealand (including in Australia, the United States and the European Union). Where we transfer personal information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient is subject to comparable privacy safeguards, as required by IPP 12.
7. How long we keep your information
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose it was collected for, and thereafter for the periods required by New Zealand law (including seven years for transaction records under the AML/CFT Act). When information is no longer required we securely destroy or de-identify it.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards — including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls and vetted providers — to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No online transmission is completely secure; you share information with us at your own risk.
9. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to:
- request confirmation of whether we hold personal information about you;
- request access to that information;
- request correction of information that is inaccurate;
- withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time; and
- complain about our handling of your information.
To exercise any of these rights please email info@luxury-property.co.nz. We will respond within 20 working days. If you are not satisfied with our response you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
10. Children
Our services are not directed to persons under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Third-party links
This website contains links to third-party sites (such as Google Maps, YouTube and social platforms). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies.
